An outstanding modern jazz record

The modern jazz star Samara Joy is returning to the scene, with her single You Stepped Out Of A Dream,  demonstrating her immense singing skills. Throughout this rendition of the jazz standard, we have inspirations from artists such as Carmen McRae, Anita O’Day, Sarah Vaughan and Kurt Elling.

In this new single announcing her third album, Samara Joy shows her ability to conduct and arrange, with her collaborator Brian Lynch (trumpeter and bandleader). Accompanied by her musicians (Jason Charos,  Donavan Austin, David Mason, Kendric McCallister,  Connor Rohrer,  Felix Moseholm and Evan Sherman), she delivers to us a soulful performance full of virtuosity and playfulness. Joy’s vocal abilities and musicality are truly outstanding, reflecting her evolution as a vocalist and musician. Her new opus Portrait, will be released on October 11th, 2024, delivering fresh arrangements to jazz standards.
