Album review: The Guesthouse by Shai Maestro

The legendary jazz musician Shai Maestro returns to the scene with his latest studio album, The Guesthouse. Composed of twelve tracks, Maestro invites the musicians Imma, MARO and Alon Lo, creating bold and timeless recordings.

The Art of Sharing

From the start, we are transported into a vibrant world where jazz and traditional music are at the core of Shai Maestro’s vision.

With some homages from his early musical influences, the first track The Timer Bender redefining jazz, blending it with classical, traditional and more experimental sounds.

Featuring saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, this track is one of the highlights of this opus, seamlessly merging free jazz, repetitive music and traditional music rhythms. The two musicians offer a modern interpretation, leaving their mark on a timeless classic, covered by many.

Other highlights include Gloria (feat. the singer MARO), GG metamorphosis and The Time Bender, each showcasing smooth and profound storytelling.
